Contextual Fit

The Gonzalez Family

Drs. Jose Luis and Maria del Carmen Gonzalez are world renowned botanist, and they are very enthusiastic of their profession. They became proud owners of the internationally known Smith House built by Richard Meier in 1965. The Gonzalez’s would like to add some new additions to their house with respect to the integrity of the original design. They want the new additions to allow plenty of natural light in for the many plants that they keep. They would like a new master bedroom, bathroom, and add walk-in-closets. The Gonzalez’s go on many expeditions trying to discover new plant species or further research existing plant species. So they would like to have an exercise room added to stay fit, but not on the same floor as the master bedroom. Since they plan on expanding their family, they want the family room expanded. Lastly, they want a roof garden included for any extra plants that they bring from their expeditions, and if possible, with a greenhouse but if not then it’s fine.
